Synthesis of terpyridine-containing polymers with blocky architectures

摘要
The synthesis of copolymers with blocky architectures, using the controlled radical polymerization (CRP) and nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization (NMP) techniques was investigated. It was observed that CRP facilitates the preparation of block copolymers with terpy functions confined to one block, which represents a new architecture for supramolecular polymers containing pyridine ligands. It was shown that NMP allows blocky architectures based on styrene, to be prepared in which terpy unit is confined to one segment. The results show that the complexes have a well-controlled stoichiometry and geometry defined by the choice of metal ion and ligand.
