Effects of heat treatment on the microstructure of nanophase indium-tin oxide

摘要
A chemical co-precipitation method was used to prepare indium-tin (In-Sn) hydroxide with a cubic structure. It was found that the cubic crystalline structure transforms to an amorphous structure after heat-treating at 250 degrees C for 1 hr. Furthermore, a reversal transformation from amorphous to cubic structure occurs at heat treatment temperatures higher than 280 degrees C. Nanophase In-Sn oxide (ITO) is obtained at 600 degrees C with a particle size of 8-20 nm. The weight ratio of In to Sn is approximately 9 to 1. The dispersion of the nanophase is uniform and each granule has a spherical shape. (C)1999 Acta Metallurgica Inc.
