(Figure Presented) The surface matters: Along with the degradation of the multilayer structure, galactosylated chitosan/plasmid DNA complexes (see picture) were simultaneously formed in situ for cell uptake and gene transfection. Surface-induced cell-specific recognition and in situ gene transfection were achieved. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
