Influence of crystallinity and stereochemistry on the enzymatic degradation of poly(lactide)s

摘要
The enzymatic degradation characteristics of two polylactide (PLA) polymers designated as PLA100 and PLA50 were studied by weighing, DSC, and SEC. The degradation of both polymers was strongly accelerated by the proteinase K. The observed degradation was attributed to several factors such as crystallinity, stereochemistry, and hydrophilicity.
