NMR study on a metal-insulator transition in oxysulfides (La1-xCaxO)Cu1-xNixS

We have investigated electronic states of (La1-xCaxO)Cu1-xNixS using Cu-63 and La-139 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The relaxation process of Cu-63 is confirmed to be quadrupole process for x=0, while the magnetic process dominates in x=0.1 at low temperature (T). Cu-63 spin-lattice relaxation time T-1 in x=0.1 at low T roughly follows the Korringa-like relation of T1T=similar to 50 (sK), suggesting that the system is in a metallic state.
