摘要
Rotating-bending fatigue tests were carried out under ambient lab-air conditions at various stress levels to evaluate the influence of the anodic Magoxid-Coat on the fatigue life of WE43A-T6 Mg. The coatings decreased the fatigue strength by about 10% in the high-cycle stress regime and increased the fatigue strength at low-cycle regime, independent of coating thickness. The anodic coating not only influenced the crack initiation process but also the crack propagation process through modification of the cracking paths during fatigue fracture. The change in the S-N curve with anodization was consistent with other reported fatigue studies of anodically coated metals.
