The automatic interpretation of natural gamma-rays in well logging at the phosphatic deposits in the Palmyra region in Syria

摘要
A new methodology has been introduced for the automatic interpretation of natural gamma-rays in wells and pits, using numerical analysis. This approach is aimed at the accurate determination of radioactive lithology levels, the thickness and the radioactive intensities. A model of four main radioactive types (K, H, A and Q) has been suggested in the prospecting region for phosphatic deposits and radioactive materials at the Khneifiss and Al-Sharkieh mines (in the Syrian Palmyrides). A good correlation has been found between the results of this methodology and the lithology of studied boreholes.
