摘要
The estimation of the electrocardiography (ECG) rate distortion curve and compression of the ECG signals by finite-state vector quantization (FSVQ) are discussed. The FSVQ efficiently compresses the ECG signals with low average distortion. However, the FSVQ cannot reduce the relatively large distortion of the QRS complex. To overcome this limitation, a modified FSVQ scheme is developed. The modified scheme increases data rate and number of computations, and lowers distortion without distorting the QRS complex.
