Impact of the reproduction accuracy of the fluid properties on formulations of the homogeneous equilibrium critical mass flow rate model

摘要
In this presentation, the critical mass flow rate formulations according to VDI-Waermeatlas, SAFIRE/DIERS and BASF are presented and their mathematical equivalence is shown. A comparison is also included of the reproduction accuracy of some commonly used approximation equations for fluid properties when fitted to water data, to refrigerant R12 data, and to chlorine data. Finally, the impact of the mostly small deviations between the original and the approximated property data on the critical mass flow rate predictions in relation to each other is presented.
