摘要
Spatially isolated states are located in a numerical model of three-dimensional Boussinesq magnetoconvection. These states include examples of 'convectons'-solutions with a single convective plume or eddy occupying a small portion of the computational domain, while the remainder is filled by an almost uniform magnetic field that is strong enough to inhibit convection completely. These solutions, which are all time-dependent, are the first isolated states to be found in a three-dimensional simulation of a physical problem. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
