Energy measurement with SSG via the ''flip-flop'' effect

摘要
The so called ''flip-flop'' effect has been observed with a 11 mu m diameter tin granule irradiated with alpha-particles of two different energies. This effect can be used to build an energy resolving and selfrecovering detector out of Superheated Superconducting Granules (SSG). In addition, an intermediate state effect has been found with tin granules of diameters between 12 mu m and 50 mu m, which also proved to be energy dependent.
