Five phenylpropanoid esters of sucrose glycosides, trivially named smiglasides A-E, were isolated from the rhizomes of Smilax glabra. Their structures were elucidated on thr: basis of spectroscopic studies. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
