摘要
We observed no difference between males and females in terms of susceptibility to TSHR antibody induction or development of hyperthyroidism following injection of TSHR+, class II+ fibroblasts. Despite the lack of female susceptibility, the Chiba mouse model resembles other aspects of Graves disease, including the contribution of non-MHC genes and the importance of the N-terminal region of the TSHR ectodomain for TSHR antibody epitopes. Consequently, future investigations using this model are likely to provide valuable insight into the immune response to the TSHR, a major organ-specific autoantigen in humans.
