摘要
The principles of green chemistry can be successfully examined by undergraduate organic chemistry students through the execution of cocrystal controlled solid-state synthesis, C3S3, experiments. Using simple experimental techniques, the reactions can be done in the absence of solvent or in the presence of a very small quantity of solvent to give products that can be easily isolated and analyzed by standard techniques or more advanced techniques if desired. The success of the experiments can be examined (see the online material) individually or as a class to demonstrate the relative greenness of these procedures as well as to more conventional methods. © Division of Chemical Education.
