摘要
Highly ordered protein monolayers with defined structures and functions can be generated using appropriate modifications of the original Langmuir-Blodgett method. The characteristics of such monolayers of proteins, and enzymes in particular, are summarized, together with an evaluation of their potential applications to biocatalysis. None of the other immobilization techniques confers such long-term protection and thermostability on the structure and function of immobilized proteins.
