Rapid deswelling of porous poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) hydrogels prepared by incorporation of silica particles

摘要
Rapid deswelling of porous poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) hydrogels prepared by incorporation of silica particles was shown. The porous hydrogels demonstrated a deswelling rate greater than conventional hydrogels, when temperature was increased above the low critical solution temperature (LCST) of PNIPAAm. Swelling of the hydrogels was not affected by the porous structure as this process was rapid.
