摘要
We present a comprehensive investigation of a near-infrared femtosecond optical parametric oscillator using especial mirrors instead of the standard prism-pair for group delay dispersion compensation. Tuning of this device requires only the variation of the pump pulse wavelength and the cavity length. Over the total tuning range of 100 nm, the pulse duration is approximately half of the pump pulse length and the time-bandwidth product is below 0.5. The shortest pulse width is 50 fs, less than one third of the pump pulse duration and is roughly five times shorter than the value calculated from the commonly used formula for the phase-matching bandwidth.
