摘要
The role of specific binding in human serum albumin (HSA) adsorption to self-assembled monolayers (SAM) was studied using X-ray reflectometry. HSA is the most abundant protein in human blood and it has several strong hydrophobic binding sites for fatty acid molecules. It was found that when the binding pockets of HSA are empty, it binds more tenaciously to a loosely packed SAM than to a densely packed SAM.
