Preparation of a Si3N4/SiC nanocomposite by high-pressure sintering of polymer precursor derived powders

摘要
Interest in nanocrystalline ceramics has motivated a need for processing that limits grain growth. In this current research, Si3N4/SiC nanocomposites were produced by high-pressure sintering of polymer precursor derived amorphous Si-N-C powder. The resulting microstructure yielded equiaxed grains Of Si3N4, SiC and Si2N2O of about 50 nm. (C) 2001 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
