Narrow-band emissions from conjugated-polymer films

摘要
Narrow optical emission bands (fwhm 5-10 nm) are observed on laser photoexcitation of solid films of certain fluorescent polymers composed of phenylene and vinylene or acetylene units. The phenomenon depends strongly on polymer backbone composition and incident light intensity. Possible explanations involving either stimulated emission or exciton condensation are discussed.
