摘要
Various strategies to recover from the intransigent situations faced by the people in the software industry are presented. The common examples of the problems include user interfaces, identity theft, securing networks, information overload, reliable, safe, and secure software. The first category of the problem needs the redirect attention, for the second category, an expert should be found out to design the solution, another category of mess needs the exploration for recurrent patterns by probes and experiments, and the design of the solution around the discovered pattern. For the last category of mess, the local parts of the system should be organized, then the new system should be started. The higher-level strategies of the mess innovation include, declaration of mess, learning from the situations, questioning the paradigm, thinking together, leading situations, and disguise from public.
