摘要
The plasticity of materials is usually controlled by a combination of a small number of elementary dislocation mechanisms. We recall in this article the main properties of Peierls-type friction mechanisms. local pinning and cross-slip in metals and alloys. We subsequently discuss how these mechanisms are combined in several intermetallic alloys. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
