Temperature-dependent self absorption of the P-3(0)->H-3(4) transition in Gd3Ga5O12:Pr3+

摘要
We report on the investigation of self absorption of the P-3(0)-->H-3(4) transition in gadolinium gallium garnet (Gd3Ga5O12) doped with pr(3+). A model is developed which includes the influence of temperature and distance on the process of reabsorption, We show that our model gives a good agreement with the experimental data in the low temperature regime (T <150 K). However, a significant deviation is observed in the high temperature domain (T >50 K). We attribute this deviation to spectral diffusion.
