Dynamic mechanical studies of polyurethane-polyurethane semi-interpenetrating polymer networks filled with γ-Fe2O3

摘要
In the present article the synthesis and morphology of filled two-component semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPNs) from crosslinked and linear polyurethane have been studied. A comparison has been made of polyblends, filled and unfilled semi-IPNs, and related homopolymers by examining their mechanical spectra in an investigation of the influence of active dispersed filler on the semi-IPNs phase structure. The introduction of gamma-Fe2O3 resulted in the incompatibility between the polymers and caused the phase segregation of semi-IPN components. The observed dynamic glass transition temperatures (T(g)s) of the two initial homopolymers substantiate our hypothesis of phase segregation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
