摘要
Results in a recent study of 1472 patients with and without work-related upper extremity complaints included an almost identical covariation between the right median minus ulnar palmar latency difference and the patient's right wrist ratio and body mass index and an almost identical likelihood of 'median slowing' in patients related to age, body mass index, and average wrist ratio regardless of patient occupation or illness. In the present study, this magnitude of effects and consistency of the associations of age, body mass index, and the wrist ratio with median nerve latency outcomes are explained based on personal factors for elevation of carpal tunnel pressures to critical levels, causing median neuropathy at the carpal tunnel.
