摘要：

We have performed numerical simulations of the quantum mechanical transport and corresponding wavefunctions in square quantum dots. In order to obtain a better understanding of the role of leads in transport, we examine the conductance as a function of both magnetic field and energy for two different lead configurations and compare these results with a 'closed' dot connected to the external environment by two tunnelling barriers.
