On the ground state of MnCO-

摘要
The ground state of MnCO- is predicted to be (II)-I-5, which is derived from a mixture of the 3d(6)4s(2) and 3d(5)4s(2)4p(1) occupations of Mn-. The (II)-I-7 state, which is derived from the 3d(5)4s(2)4p(1) occupation, is found to be only slightly higher in energy. On the basis of the calculations, the two MnCO states observed in photoelectron detachment experiment are assigned as (II)-I-4 and (II)-I-6. The computed geometries and vibrational frequencies are in reasonable agreement with experiment.
