Active suspension of vehicle systems using fuzzy logic

摘要
This paper is concerned with the design of an active suspension of vehicle systems, subject to irregular excitation using fuzzy logic. The vehicle system is modelled as a mass-damper-spring system with two degrees of freedom, and the suspension travel is measured at each sampling instant. The active control is determined such that the acceleration amplitude of the vehicle body from the point of view of ride comfort of passengers is minimized under the constraint of the suspension travel and tyre deflection, in which the suspension travel and its time derivative are treated as the input variables, and the active control is used as the output variable in the fuzzy control rules. The stability of the proposed active suspension system is derived by the tuned fuzzy control rules and member ship functions. The simulation results show that the proposed active control is more effective than passive control in terms of the ride comfort of passengers.
