摘要
Network management systems are large, distributed software systems that can stiffer from the scalability and flexibility issues common in today's technology. Software agent technology offers the promise of a solution to these problems. A set of agent concepts have been adopted and used to construct an experimental system in the network management domain of ATM performance management. An evaluation of the system confirms that the software agents approach allows development of scalable network management systems that are cheaper to build, change and discard.
