We examine the "thanking" behavior of economists to see which economists are thanked the most in the asterisk footnote of papers published in three major economics journals over the period 1960-1999. Not surprisingly, the names of the great economists show up on these lists most frequently. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
