Hydrogen generation by hydrolysis reaction of magnesium hydride

摘要
The investigation of the hydrolysis of MgH2 using an acid and a catalyst for hydrogen (H2) generation was presented. The crystalline structure of the byproduct obtained by the hydrolysis reaction of MgH 2 using acetic acid was investigated by a wide angle X-ray diffraction. The X-ray diffraction pattern was recorded at room temperature using a Rigaku Denki Rad-B over a range of diffraction angle from 3 to 80° with Cu Kα radiation filtered by a monochrometer. It was shown that the H2 generation increases when an aqueous solution of acetic acid was injected into the vessel at 296 K.
