摘要
Grafting copolymerization of styrene onto polypropylene fabric has been studied by using a gamma ray preirradiation technique. The polypropylene fabric samples were irradiated in an environment of air and nitrogen gas. The effects of the absorbed dose, styrene concentration in methanol, reaction temperature and reaction time on the degree of grafting were determined. The effects of a polyfunctional monomer and sulphuric acid on the grafting yield were also examined. The samples irradiated in nitrogen gas gave a much higher degree of grafting than those in air. The addition of sulfuric acid and polyfunctional monomer in the grafting solution enhanced greatly the grafting yield. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
