An increasing number of training opportunities are available to physicians interested in pursuing international emergency medicine (EM) work. Fellowship programs for United States medical graduates have focused on preparing physicians for international humanitarian relief work and typically include a Masters of Public Health degree. Many programs focus on the development of foreign EM training programs and care delivery systems. A range of clinical and observational EM training opportunities are open to international medical graduates depending on their individual eligibility for United States medical licensure. A listing of programs in both categories is provided.
