摘要
Polyethylene films obtained by the extrusion-blowing process present anisotropic physical characteristics. This feature provides them with several interesting mechanical properties for numerous industrial applications. In this report, the effects of the electron beam treatment on such materials are presented. The influence of irradiation dose on the gel content and on the crystallinity was examined for two low density polyethylenes. These films were made by extrusion-blowing with two different draw ratios and with two different blow-up ratios. The changes in the mechanical properties of the films after radiation crosslinking are analyzed and discussed. The film anisotropy is slightly modified by the crosslinking, (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
