摘要
The reactivity of organic compounds in superheated water was discussed. The ability of water to carry out condensation, cleavage and hydrolysis reactions and to effect selective ionic chemistry was found to be due to the changes in its chemical and physical properties. Water can also act as an acidic or basic catalyst and its reactivity can be reinforced by autocatalysis from water soluble reaction products.
