摘要
The rheological characterization of ceramic pastes is illustrated as an advantageous tool in the development of easily extrudable materials. Then each step of the extrusion process of monolithic ceramic catalysts is discussed, and the relation between the nature and amount of the raw materials, the rheological characteristics of the resulting paste, and the morphological and mechanical properties of the final material are discussed. This matter is illustrated with selected examples taken from the literature and from our experience in the preparation of TiO2-based monolithic honeycomb catalysts. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
