Imaging Alzheimer's disease: clinical applications

摘要
Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging has been used extensively over the past 20 years for investigations of Alzheimer's disease and other dementing disorders, from pathophysiology to diagnosis. This article reviews clinical applications of PET imaging in dementia, particularly the use of [F-18]fluordeoxyglucose (FDG), and evidence from the literature concerning the efficacy of FDG PET imaging in dementia diagnosis and care.
