(Chemical Equation Presented) Tagging transferases: A coenzyme A (CoA)-based affinity probe with a sulfoxycarbamate functionality can selectively identify several acetyltransferases relative to other enzymes and proteins. It leaves behind a desthiobiotin tag that can be used for western blotting and mass spectrometric characterization (see picture; Nu = nucleophile). © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH &. Co. KGaA.
