摘要
An empirical approach toward understanding important problems in software development is explored. Software development Computer science involves people solving problems, therefore computer scientists must perform empirical studies that involve developers and users alike. They must understand products, processes, and the relationships among them. These scientists must experiment, analyze, and synthesize the resulting knowledge. They must package that knowledge for further development. Researchers need laboratories in which to observe and manipulate development variables, provide models to predict the cost and quality of the systems, and identify the cost and quality of the systems, and identify what processes and techniques are most effective in building the system under the given conditions to satisfy a specific set of goals. This empirical study involves many individuals and require laboratories to perform good experimentation, while, interaction among industrial, government, and academic organizations is essential.
