摘要
Exogenous surfactant therapy is widely used for the prevention and treatment of respiratory distress syndrome in premature newborns. The introduction of surfactant therapy is widely credited with recent improvements in neonatal mortality. This article presents an overview of the current use of exogenous surfactant therapy for preterm neonates, based on currently available evidence.
