摘要
The topological(1) aspects of forest roads are most commonly quantified only by length and road density, which are poor indicators of many aspects of the network relevant to forest managers. This paper presents three new metrics(2)-for coverage, efficiency and convenience-and uses a case study to demonstrate their utility in assisting road network decision-making. The procedures for determining the metrics are described, and suggestions made for their future application. The metric for road network coverage was found to be a useful guideline for road network planning.
