'Black box' optical regenerator for RZ transmission systems

摘要
A novel in-line regeneration scheme is proposed for any RZ system, based on periodic RZ/soliton/RZ conversion and synchronous modulation within a 'black box'. The regenerator is shown theoretically to significantly increase transmission distance.
