Cholic and deoxycholic acids were found to form inclusion compounds with various racemic cyclic ketones enabling direct and straightforward enantiomer separation. The X-ray structure of the 2:1 inclusion complex between (-)-bicyclo[3.2.0]-hept-2-en-6-one and cholic acid is reported. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
