X-ray crystallography is the most comprehensive technique available to determine molecular structure at atomic resolution. Advances in detector technology and computational methods have enabled crystallographic studies of both very small crystals and very large molecules. Other advances have led to studies of structural changes in proteins using time-resolved Laue diffraction. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier B.V.
