(Figure Presented) Roll up! Roll up! The self-assembly of para-terphenylen-1,4″-ylenebis(dodecanamide) in THF results in either multiwalled, rolled-up, open-ended organic nanotubes or layered sheets (see picture) depending on the conditions used. The nanotubes can co-assemble with fullerene to produce quasi-cable-like structures with C60 nanowires inside the nanotubes. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
