Synthesis and characterization of Na6Cd7S10: A new framework sulfide with 1-D channels containing 12- and 16-member rings and a sulfide anion in an umbrella-like geometry

摘要
The new ternary cadmium sulfide compound Na6Cd7S10 exhibits a tunneled three-dimensional framework, with a sulfur atom in an ''umbrella'' geometry. Its lattice contains numerous ''built-in'' cadmium vacancies which are believed to give rise to its interesting light-absorbing and -emitting properties.
