An approach to the chemistry of fracture in oxynitride glasses

摘要
A comparison of the experimental and calculated elastic moduli of SiAlON glasses was carried out. The estimate of E values starting with physicochemical parameters of crystalline phases is shown to result in excellent agreement with the experimental values if the oxynitride chemistry of SiAlONs is considered. By chosing ternary subsystems within the MOx-SiO2-Al2O3 ternary diagram an approach to the glass structure is performed.
