摘要
One of the most widely used diagnostic tools in use today is ultrasonic imaging due to its cost effectiveness as well as its ability to provide real time gray scale images of anatomical detail with millimeter spatial resolution. However, the performance of arrays and transducers used in ultrasonic imagers has been limited because of the complex design and fabrication processes involved in their manufacture. A review of past achievements and current developments in ultrasonic array/transducer technology is provided with the aim of providing a better understanding of transducer/array performance and some of the factors that prevent ultrasonic imagers from reaching higher resolution.
