Permacol(TM) (Tissue Science Laboratories plc, Aldershot, Hants) is a new biomaterial which combines the strength and permanence of synthetic surgical repair materials with the biocompatibility of natural materials. This article examines the clinical application of Permacol(TM) in a range of different surgical procedures.
