An in situ EXAFS-study of corrosion products

摘要
The extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) technique was used for the in situ investigation of the corrosion products formed by the anodic dissolution of silver in 0.5 M Na2SO4. It will be shown that near range order structural information such as bond distances, coordination numbers and Debye-Waller factors of the dissolved species can easily be obtained. For the corroded Ag electrodes examined in this study, the results suggest the presence of an Ag(OH)(2)(-)-complex in solution. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
